This role involves assisting with various aspects of endoscopy clinics across Dorset, supporting patients from admission through to discharge. You will play a crucial role in preparing patients for procedures, assisting clinicians during examinations, and providing post-procedure care and comfort, contributing directly to the smooth operation of essential NHS services.

  • Demonstrated motivation and compassion in patient care.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work part-time hours as required by the contract.
  • Applicants MUST have existing right-to-work in the UK.

Benefits

  • Competitive NHS Band 2/3 salary, dependent on experience.

  • Chance to contribute to high-quality patient care in endoscopy.
  • Part-time hours offering work-life balance.

How to Prepare

For Nigerian and African immigrants eyeing this NHS Healthcare Assistant role, it's crucial to present your application in a way that resonates with UK employers. Ensure your CV highlights any experience in clinical settings, especially if it aligns with endoscopy or patient support, and tailor it to the UK format. A polished LinkedIn profile, demonstrating your professional network and skills, will also make a strong impression.

Given this is an NHS role, consider any relevant UK-recognised certifications or training you might have. For those without immediate UK right-to-work, your cover letter is vital to explicitly state your current status and any plans for obtaining eligibility, while still emphasising your transferable skills and dedication to patient care. Prepare for an interview by researching 18 Week Support and NHS values, showcasing your understanding of the UK healthcare system.

  • Ensure your CV is updated, UK-formatted, and highlights relevant patient care or clinical support experience.
  • Prepare a compelling cover letter that addresses your right-to-work status and expresses your commitment to the role.
  • Gather professional references, ideally from previous healthcare employers.
  • Familiarise yourself with NHS values and the specific requirements of an Endoscopy HCA role.
  • If applicable, ensure any professional registrations or certifications are up-to-date and clearly stated.

Visa Sponsorship & Foreigner Eligibility

Visa sponsorship is NOT advertised for this Healthcare Assistant position. This role primarily seeks UK-based applicants who already possess the legal right-to-work in the UK. Foreign applicants may still apply, but it is essential to confirm your eligibility directly with 18 Week Support before submitting a full application.
