Job Description

As a Support Worker with VP Forensic Ltd, you will be working with a client in the Long Eaton area, providing essential support. The role demands individuals who are highly motivated, skilled, and reliable, with previous experience in support work.

Your responsibilities will involve supporting a client with an AQB, with support hours varying to accommodate college attendance during term time and in-term periods. Weekend hours are also available, offering a flexible schedule with shifts including Monday to Friday from 17:00-22:00 and Saturdays from 10:00-16:00.

Requirements

  • Must meet a specific level of competence or knowledge in support work.
  • Proven experience as a Support Worker, ideally with clients requiring AQB support.
  • Highly motivated, skilled, and reliable work ethic.
  • Valid UK driving license is required.
  • Existing right-to-work in the UK is mandatory for all applicants.

Benefits

  • Competitive hourly pay of £14.00 per hour.
  • Structured part-time hours with options for weekend work.
  • Opportunity to work with a reputable client in the Long Eaton area.
  • Gain valuable experience in forensic support work.
  • Flexible scheduling to accommodate client needs, including term-time and in-term hours.

How to Prepare

For Nigerian and African immigrants in the UK targeting this Support Worker role, it's crucial to present a professional application that highlights your relevant skills and experience. Ensure your CV is formatted to UK standards, detailing any experience in care or support roles, especially those involving complex needs. A strong LinkedIn profile that mirrors your CV and showcases your commitment to care work will also be beneficial. Since this role requires a specific level of competence, be ready to articulate how your past experiences meet these criteria.

Even though this role prefers UK-based applicants with right-to-work, if you are a foreign applicant already in the UK with existing work rights, clearly state your visa status and right to work. Emphasise any UK-recognised credentials or training you possess, such as an enhanced DBS certificate, and prepare professional references from previous UK employers if possible. A compelling cover letter explaining your suitability for the role and your understanding of the client's needs will also strengthen your application.

  • Ensure your CV is updated, UK-formatted, and highlights all relevant support worker experience.
  • Prepare a cover letter that specifically addresses your competence and reliability, referencing the AQB support.
  • Gather all necessary documents, including your valid UK driving license and proof of right-to-work in the UK.
  • Be ready to discuss your experience in detail, demonstrating your understanding of client needs and care protocols.
  • Secure professional references, ideally from UK-based employers, to vouch for your skills and work ethic.

Visa Sponsorship & Foreigner Eligibility

Visa sponsorship is NOT advertised for this Support Worker position. The employer explicitly prefers UK-based applicants who already possess the legal right to work in the UK. Foreign applicants with existing UK residency and valid work permits may still apply. If your status is borderline or you have specific questions regarding eligibility, it is highly recommended to confirm directly with VP Forensic Ltd before applying.
