1. Who we are
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of naijaukhub.com (the "Site"), operated by NaijaUKHub ("we", "us", "our") — a jobs, business directory, events, and community platform for Nigerians and African immigrants in the United Kingdom. By accessing or using the Site, creating an account, submitting a listing, registering for an event, or using any of our free tools, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.
If you have questions, contact us at contact@naijaukhub.com.
Some content on the Site is generated using artificial intelligence — most notably the personalised results from our free tools (Section 5), and it may also be used to summarise or draft other content such as news posts. Where AI is used to generate content shown to you, we say so; treat it as a starting point, not a verified or professionally-checked answer.
2. Eligibility
The Site is intended for people aged 16 and over. By using the Site you confirm you meet this requirement. If you are a business owner or event organiser submitting content on behalf of a company, you confirm you have the authority to do so.
3. Accounts
Some features (submitting a business listing, posting an event, registering for events, saving job alerts) require creating an account. You're responsible for:
- Providing accurate, current information when you register and keeping it up to date.
- Keeping your login details confidential and for all activity under your account.
- Notifying us immediately at contact@naijaukhub.com if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms, provides false information, or is used for abuse, fraud, or spam.
4. Job listings
The Site aggregates and displays job vacancies from third-party sources (job boards, employer sites, RSS feeds) as well as listings submitted directly to us. In relation to job listings:
- We do not employ, recruit, or act as an employment agency, and we are not a party to any employment relationship between you and an employer.
- We make reasonable efforts to keep listings current but we do not guarantee that a listing is accurate, still open, correctly categorised, or free of errors introduced by the source or by automated scraping.
- Applying for a job, including via any external "apply" link, is between you and the employer or third-party site. We are not responsible for the outcome of any application, the recruitment process, or any employer's conduct.
- We do not verify UK right-to-work eligibility on behalf of employers or applicants. It remains your responsibility to confirm your right to work in the UK and the employer's responsibility to carry out their own checks.
5. Free tools (career guide, ILR eligibility checker, and similar)
We provide free interactive tools — including the career pathway guide and the ILR (Indefinite Leave to Remain) eligibility checker — to help you explore options based on information you provide.
- AI-generated content: the personalised narrative, recommendations, and pathway suggestions produced by these tools are generated using artificial intelligence (including third-party AI services such as Google's Gemini API), based on the answers you submit. AI-generated output can be incomplete, generic, factually wrong, or based on out-of-date rules, even when it reads as confident and specific. It is not reviewed by a human adviser before it's shown to you unless we say otherwise.
- These tools are for general guidance only and do not constitute immigration advice, legal advice, career counselling, or a professional recommendation. Immigration rules are complex and change frequently; outcomes depend on your individual circumstances, which a short questionnaire cannot fully capture.
- Before making any decision about your immigration status, visa application, or career, you should seek advice from an OISC-regulated immigration adviser, a qualified solicitor, or another appropriately qualified professional. We are not a substitute for that advice, and you should independently verify any rule, route, or eligibility criterion an AI-generated result mentions before relying on it (for example, by checking gov.uk directly).
- We accept no liability for decisions made, applications submitted, fees paid, or outcomes (including a refused visa application, missed deadline, or career decision) based on the output of these tools.
- Some tool results may display sponsored or affiliate cards from third parties (see Section 8). We clearly label these as referrals — they are not part of our independent guidance, and they are not AI-generated.
6. Business directory listings
Business owners may submit a listing for their business to appear in our directory.
- Moderation: every submission is reviewed before publication. We may approve, reject, edit for clarity or policy compliance, or request changes to a listing at our discretion, and we are not obliged to publish any submission.
- Accuracy: you are solely responsible for the accuracy of the information, images, and contact details in your listing. You must have the right to use any images or content you upload and must not submit misleading, unlawful, or infringing content.
- Duration and renewal: listings are published for a limited period (currently 30 days from approval unless otherwise stated) and are automatically hidden after expiry. You may need to resubmit or request a renewal to keep a listing live. We may extend, feature, or de-feature a listing at our discretion.
- Fees: some listing types, features (such as featured placement), or promotional options may be offered free of charge or for a fee, as described on the Site at the time of submission. Where a fee applies, this will be clearly stated before you pay, and any payment terms (including refund eligibility) will be set out at that point. We are not responsible for third-party payment processor errors, but we will work with you to resolve genuine billing issues.
- Removal: we may remove, suspend, or refuse to publish a listing at any time if it breaches these Terms, is reported as inaccurate or fraudulent, or if the business owner requests removal.
- Listing your business does not constitute an endorsement, verification, or guarantee of the quality, safety, or legitimacy of that business by NaijaUKHub. Users interact with listed businesses at their own risk and are encouraged to do their own due diligence.
7. Events and ticketing
The Site allows organisers to list events and allows users to register interest ("I'm going") or, where an organiser provides an external registration link (e.g. Eventbrite or a similar third-party ticketing platform), to be directed there to register or purchase a ticket.
7.1 Our role
For events using an external registration/ticketing link, NaijaUKHub is a listing platform only — we display event details submitted by the organiser and pass you through to their chosen registration or ticketing provider. We are not the event organiser, promoter, ticket seller, or payment processor for those events. We do not hold, process, or have visibility of any payment you make on a third-party platform.
7.2 In-house RSVPs
Where you register interest directly on the Site ("I'm going"), this records your intent to attend on our system so the organiser and other users can see approximate numbers. It does not itself constitute a paid ticket, a contract of entry, or a guarantee of a place, unless the organiser expressly states otherwise. An RSVP made through the Site carries no payment and is not eligible for any refund because none is taken.
7.3 Payments, refunds, and cancellations for externally-ticketed events
Because payment for these events is taken by the organiser or their third-party ticketing platform, not by us:
- Your contract for the ticket (including price, what it includes, and any booking fee) is with the organiser and/or the ticketing platform, not with NaijaUKHub.
- Refund and cancellation policies (including whether tickets are refundable, transferable, or subject to a cancellation window) are set by the organiser or ticketing platform and should be checked before you pay. We do not set, guarantee, or enforce these policies, and we cannot issue a refund on an organiser's behalf.
- If an event is cancelled, postponed, or materially changed by the organiser, any refund is subject to that organiser's or platform's own policy. We recommend contacting the organiser directly, and if a paid ticketing platform (e.g. Eventbrite) was used, also checking that platform's buyer protection or refund process.
- If you believe an event listed on the Site is fraudulent, a scam, or that an organiser has failed to deliver a paid-for event or respond to a legitimate refund request, please report it to us at contact@naijaukhub.com. We will investigate, may remove the listing and suspend the organiser's account, and may share relevant information with affected users or authorities where appropriate — but we cannot guarantee recovery of any funds you paid to a third party.
- Chargeback and payment disputes for card or platform payments should be raised with your card issuer or the ticketing platform in the first instance, in line with their standard processes.
7.4 If direct paid ticketing is introduced on the Site
Should we introduce in-house paid ticketing (i.e. where NaijaUKHub itself takes payment via an integrated payment processor) in future, the following will apply in addition to this section, and will be presented to you in full at the point of purchase before you pay:
- Clear display of the ticket price, any booking or service fee, and what the ticket includes, before checkout.
- An order confirmation sent to you on completion of a successful payment.
- A defined cancellation and refund window (for example, full refund if cancelled a set number of days before the event, no refund inside a shorter window, unless the event itself is cancelled or materially changed by the organiser, in which case you will be offered a refund or, where offered, a transfer to a rescheduled date).
- Our right, and the organiser's right, to cancel or reschedule an event for reasons including low registration, venue unavailability, or circumstances beyond reasonable control (force majeure), with affected ticket-holders notified and refunded or rebooked according to the policy shown at the time of purchase.
- Your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law (including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and, where applicable, distance-selling cancellation rights) are not affected by anything in these Terms.
7.5 Accuracy and organiser responsibility
Organisers are responsible for the accuracy of the event details they submit (date, time, venue, price, capacity, age restrictions, and any other material terms). Events may be postponed, changed, or cancelled by the organiser at their discretion; we are not responsible for losses (including travel, accommodation, or childcare costs) arising from such changes and recommend confirming details directly with the organiser, and checking for updates on the Site, before travelling to or paying for an event.
7.6 Moderation
We may remove or refuse to list an event, or suspend an organiser's account, at any time if the event breaches these Terms, misrepresents itself, appears fraudulent, or if we receive credible reports of non-delivery or refund issues.
8. Sponsored content and affiliate/referral links
Some pages, including tool results and listings, may display sponsored cards, affiliate links, or referral partners (for example, links to advisers or services relevant to your results). We label this content as sponsored or a referral where it appears. We may receive a fee or commission if you click through or engage with these third parties. We do not independently verify every claim made by third-party advertisers or referral partners, and your use of any linked third-party service is subject to that third party's own terms.
9. Newsletter and communications
If you sign up for job alerts, our newsletter, or WhatsApp/other notifications, we will send you the communications you've opted into. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in our emails, by adjusting your notification settings, or by contacting us. See our Privacy Policy for details on how we use your data.
10. Acceptable use
When using the Site you agree not to:
- Submit false, misleading, defamatory, obscene, or unlawful content (including in job listings, business listings, event listings, reviews, or account details).
- Impersonate any person or business, or misrepresent your affiliation with one.
- Use the Site to harass, defraud, spam, or scrape data in bulk without our written permission.
- Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or gain unauthorised access to the Site, its accounts, or its underlying systems.
- Use the Site for any purpose that breaches UK law, including consumer protection, advertising standards, or immigration law.
We may remove content, suspend accounts, or take other action, including reporting to relevant authorities, in response to a breach of this section.
11. Content ownership and licence
You retain ownership of the content you submit (business descriptions, images, event details, etc.). By submitting content to the Site, you grant NaijaUKHub a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, reproduce, and distribute that content on the Site and in related marketing (e.g. featuring a listing on our social channels) for as long as the listing remains active, and to retain records as needed for legal or moderation purposes after removal.
All other content on the Site — including our design, branding, text, and the career/ILR tool logic — is owned by NaijaUKHub or our licensors and may not be copied or reused without permission.
12. Third-party links and sites
The Site contains links to third-party websites (employer sites, ticketing platforms, social media channels, advisers, and referral partners). We don't control these sites and aren't responsible for their content, terms, privacy practices, or the outcome of any interaction you have with them. Links are provided for convenience and do not imply endorsement.
13. Disclaimers
The Site and all tools, listings, and content are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that any information (job listings, business listings, event details, or tool results) is accurate, complete, or up to date.
14. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, NaijaUKHub will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, or for loss of income, business, or opportunity, arising from your use of the Site, reliance on any listing or tool result, or your dealings with any employer, business, event organiser, or third party found through the Site. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under UK law.
15. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify NaijaUKHub against any claims, losses, or costs arising from content you submit (job, business, or event listings), your breach of these Terms, or your misuse of the Site.
16. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your account, remove a listing, or restrict your access to the Site at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms or if we discontinue a feature or the Site itself. You may close your account at any time by contacting us.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the Site, our services, or the law. Material changes will be announced on the Site. The "Last updated" date above always reflects the current version. Continued use of the Site after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
18. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
